"Only Ones"

This fashion film is another collaboration with high-end women’s fashion brand Emily Daccarett. Her Spring/Summer 2016 line had a classic Southern California surfer/skater theme mixed with high-end luxury fabrics and bright, eye catching colors. Our motivation for the film was Malibu and Venice Beach surfer culture in the 1970s, where being free and expressive was part of the iconic backdrop of the era.

This was our first time shooting at the iconic Gesner Beach House, and we paired it with the isolated coves and bluffs of Malibu to capture a range of dramatic, secluded coastal settings away from the crowds. The visuals leaned into an ethereal, dreamlike quality, further enhanced by a carefully chosen music selection, resulting in a film that felt as free-spirited and expressive as the era that inspired it.
