"You Review"

ON Running came to us to produce and develop the newest humorous branded video series of upbeat, comical “You Review” spots for their new 2022 collection of athletic wear. To really put the gear to the test in front of the camera, we incorporated practical special effects like rain and wind on set, letting the talent showcase how ON’s newest technical fabrics and footwear performed under real, physically demanding weather conditions rather than relying on anything simulated after the fact.

The entire series was shot on an XR stage in Los Angeles, a cutting-edge virtual production setup that let us build out completely different environments in real time without ever leaving the studio. That technology gave us the freedom to match each backdrop to the specific collection being showcased, from the snow-dusted peaks of the Alps to the sun-scorched expanse of the desert to the gritty energy of an urban environment, all shot back to back in a single controlled location. Combining the XR stage with practical rain and wind effects gave the spots a level of visual variety and authenticity that would have been incredibly difficult, and far more costly, to achieve on location.
