Tiger House Films partnered once again with SharkNinja on a kitchen appliance commercial production for two of Ninja’s newest countertop innovations: the Ninja CrushBOSS Kitchen System and the Ninja PREPi Precision Powered Prep and Store System. This marks our fourth commercial with the SharkNinja team, and it may be our most technically ambitious yet.
SharkNinja comes to Tiger House Films for one thing above all: high-end aesthetics. Their products are engineered with precision, and they expect the imagery to match. For this kitchen appliance commercial production, that meant building the entire shoot around the Bolt, a high-speed motion control robot. It let us capture perfectly repeatable camera moves and a level of polish that simply isn’t possible with traditional camera support. The production was shot over two days in Irvine, California, at SharkNinja’s in-house studio, a collection of standing sets built directly into their corporate offices.
Why Motion Control for a Kitchen Appliance Commercial Production
The most compelling moments in any kitchen appliance commercial production happen in fractions of a second. Ice is crushed into snow. A pepper is sliced clean in one pass. A crinkle-cut disc throws perfect ribbons of vegetable into a bowl. These moments are fast, messy, and nearly impossible to capture perfectly in a single take.
Motion control solves that problem. The Bolt can whip through fast, dynamic camera moves and then repeat that exact move frame for frame, as many times as needed. That let our team shoot each setup in multiple passes: a clean product pass, an action pass with ingredients and liquids, and plates for compositing. In post, those layers were combined into one flawless shot. The result is imagery with the speed and energy of real food prep and the pristine finish of a premium product spot. Every blade, pitcher, and prep bowl reads crisp and intentional.
A Highly Specialized Commercial Production Team
A shoot like this lives or dies by its crew. Motion control work demands a tight collaboration between the robot operators, the director of photography, tabletop and food styling specialists, and our post-production team. Every move is programmed, rehearsed, and refined long before the first take. Ingredients have to land in the same place, lighting has to hold across dozens of repeat passes, and every department has to think in layers rather than single shots.
Tiger House Films assembled a highly specialized team built specifically for this kind of precision product cinematography. Planning began in pre-production, where shot design and Bolt programming were mapped to SharkNinja’s creative goals for both the CrushBOSS and PREPi. Shooting inside SharkNinja’s Irvine studio added its own logistics. Our crew had to integrate a motion control rig and its full support package into standing sets inside a working corporate office. That groundwork is what allowed the team to move efficiently across both shoot days without sacrificing the high-end look the brand expects.
